ELIZABETH MCGOVERN SET FOR LONDON RESIDENCY
Thursday, October 4, 2012 - Downton Abbey star Elizabeth Mcgovern has signed up for a weekly residency with her band at a London club.
The British actress, who plays Lady Cora in the hit period drama, will perform intimate gigs with her band Sadie and The Hotheads at The Troubadour throughout November .
McGovern's stint at the legendary folk venue will follow the release of
the group's album How Not To Lose Things on 29 October , and the actress/singer admits she is excited about the new venture with her bandmates.
She says, "I am in awe of the musicians who I had the opportunity to work with on this project. They create magic out of thin air... time and time again, on whatever drafty stage or pub we happened to be in. With good
humour and joy in their art, they begin to play. It gives me faith. That
it's all worth it, for its own sake and for the joy. This is what I hope
we can convey."
